SEE GRID HEALTH IN REAL TIME

Distribution Fault Anticipation technology automatically detects equipment failures and sub-optimal operation before they create an outage.

MISSION

Predict failures. Prevent outages. Protect Lives.

Distribution circuits consist of many components, all of which have a finite service life. When these components fail they create outages, wildfires, and safety hazards. Many common component failures produce distinct electrical signatures detectable with the right equipment at the substation. Utilizing decades of innovation and more than 4,000 circuit-years of data, DFA technology delivers industry-leading capability that enables you to detect and fix underlying circuit issues before they cause an outage.

Make Power System Data Actionable

Data alone doesn't prevent outages - event recognition does. In a two-year field study, conventional monitoring tools recorded 178 faults on a single circuit, but missed the pattern: 44 of them were precursor events, all traceable to a single location and indicating a likely, more significant outage in the future.

DFA automatically identified these precursor events by measuring high-fidelity waveforms from existing substation CTs and PTs. It delivered clear, actionable reports identifying these clusters of similar faults to maintenance crews, making it possible to resolve the root cause early.

Technical Benefits

See Failures Before They Happen

Detect and repair failing equipment before it causes an outage, replacing hours of unplanned downtime with brief, scheduled maintenance that maintains system uptime and reliability.

No New Sensors Required

Use PTs and CTs you already have in your substation.

Answers, Not Data

In-substation algorithms automatically convert high-fidelity waveforms into specific, actionable reports and alerts.
